Miné F

Hi, I’m Miné! I am currently completing my Bachelor of Occupational Therapy, a degree that has deeply enriched my understanding of human development, learning styles, and holistic support—all of which I integrate into my tutoring approach. I have a strong academic foundation, demonstrated by my matric year results, where I achieved four distinctions. These include 88% in Afrikaans, 89% in English, 91% in Life Orientation, and an outstanding 92% in Tourism. I also achieved strong marks in analytical subjects like Maths, Life Science, and Physical Science. This background equips me to handle a wide range of subjects while focusing on the individual learner.

As a tutor, I see myself as the helping hand of the student. My primary aim is to provide tailored assistance, especially when a student is struggling to get a full grasp on certain concepts. I focus on clarifying complex ideas and explaining them in a way that matches the student’s unique learning style. Whether we’re preparing for exams or just going over material from class, I step in to fill the knowledge gaps and reinforce understanding, ensuring the student feels fully prepared and confident about the material before moving forward.

Outside of my academic work, I love activities that connect me with the world around me. I enjoy watching rugby, getting lost in a good book through reading, and expressing creativity by writing poetry. Spending quality time with my family and friends is incredibly important to me. I have a profound love for the bush and nature, with a special appreciation for the Kruger National Park—being close to the creations of the Lord is a big part of what recharges and inspires me.

I’ve been tutoring for over 5 years, and in that time, I’ve learned that every student is different and deserves a learning approach that fits their needs. As a tutor, I aim to support my students not just academically, but emotionally too — helping them build confidence, develop effective study habits, and truly understand the subject matter. I listen carefully to their concerns, use examples that interest them, and always go the extra mile to make sure they feel encouraged and cared for on their academic journey.

In my spare time, I love reading personal development books and watching motivational content that helps me grow both professionally and personally. I also enjoy arts and crafts, which allow me to tap into my creativity and practice patience — skills that directly benefit my tutoring approach. Nature walks and spending time with friends and family help me stay refreshed and balanced, so I can show up as my best self in every session.

Whether a learner is struggling with confidence or needing help mastering a particular concept, I’m there to walk the journey with them—always encouraging, always believing.

In my spare time, I find joy in international travel and capturing the beauty of different cultures through photography. I also compose my own music on piano and guitar, and have a deep appreciation for architecture, graphic design, and contemporary art.
