Following the President’s address on 23 March 2020, updated on 9 April 2020, in which a country-wide lockdown was instituted from midnight Thursday 26 March until midnight Thursday 30 April, all in-person (face-to-face) tutoring is required, by law, to be put on hold until this date.
We do, however, strongly recommend that your lessons continue online during the lockdown, and if your current tutor cannot assist you, we have brilliant tutors for all subjects ready and available to assist you and your child online during this time. We regret that no refunds on packages will be provided at this time.
If you have any questions about online lessons please let us know. Have a look at an example of one of our online lessons here.
BrightSparkz will continue to operate as per usual, offering tutoring and other learning support services online. Feel free to also take a look at our Little Sparkz – Parent Edition (3-5 year olds) and our online languages & study skills courses, for educational activities your child can do to keep their minds engaged over this time!
If online lessons are impossible, we will suspend currently active packages until 30 April 2020, when the lockdown will end per government decree on 9 April 2020. Should the lockdown extend for a longer period, we will re-examine package suspension.
Here are some WHO guidelines on how to stay healthy and what the symptoms of COVID-19 are. Please remember to:
- Wash your hands regularly, with soap and water, for at least 20 seconds
- Use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer if soap and water are unavailable
- Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your elbow when sneezing or coughing
- “Social distancing”: keep a distance of at least 1m between you and other people, and avoid large crowds or unnecessary gatherings
We hope we can make this difficult time easier for you by allaying your education concerns. If you have any other learning support or tutoring needs while schools are closed, please let us know.
