BrightSparkz’s Little Sparkz™ is a fun and interactive Grade R readiness course that you can do with your little one in the comfort of your own home! This specialized one-on-one program assists children in mastering various skills required to enter Grade R confidently, including:

What is Little Sparkz™?

Our team of carefully selected Early Childhood Educators has created a unique Grade R preparation course for children aged 3 – 5, that’s compatible with all curricula. As well as building on the aforementioned competencies and skills, the Little Sparkz program will stimulate your child’s logical thinking and imagination, while reinforcing how fun learning is. The best part – you’ll have the opportunity to watch your child’s step-by-step progress as you work through the activities together!

How does Little Sparkz™ work?

Each level of the Little Sparkz™ program comprises 10 lessons, each centering around a theme that you and your child are likely to be familiar with. You’ll follow detailed instructions and lesson guidelines in order to ensure that you and your child complete all the activities. There are also opportunities for parents to revisit some of their own creativity 😊

How is this different from Little Sparkz™ with a facilitator?

Instead of lessons being conducted by one of our trained facilitators, your Little Spark gets to experience all the fun of this course with YOU – their favourite person! You can download all lesson materials and instructions, and take your child through the course at your own pace, ensuring they learn everything they need to in order to be ready for Big School, and building on your special bond at the same time.

Which level of Little Sparkz™ should my child start with?

Little Sparkz™ is a 2 level program, with Level 1 being more appropriate for 3-4 year old competency levels, and Level 2 being appropriate for 4-5 year old competency levels. To find out if your child should start at Level 1 or Level 2, answer the following questions:

1) Can your child write their name correctly without assistance?

2) Can your child cut along a printed zigzag independently?

3) Can your child count to 20 and recognize numbers 1 – 20 without assistance?

If your answer to all of the above is “yes”, your child should start at Level 2. If not, your child should start at Level 1.

Where does Little Sparkz™ happen?

We recommend conducting all Little Sparkz™ sessions at home or at a venue that your child feels comfortable and familiar with. Stationery and various household items are required for some activities, which would be most easily accessible at home.

My child is already in Grade R – Is Little Sparkz™ suitable?

The Little Sparkz™ program focuses on the foundational skills needed in order to enter Grade R with confidence. If your child is already in Grade R but is struggling to cope with some of the demands, we would recommend completing the Little Sparkz™ program in order to identify where the gaps are and bridge them effectively.

My child is only 3 – Is Little Sparkz™ suitable?

Yes! We’ve recently launched a Little Sparkz™ Level 1 for 3-4 year olds You can indicate on the booking form that this is what you’re interested in.
