Marlene is one of the most experienced, versatile and talented members of the BrightSparkz team. She is a trained Afrikaans Boot Camp tutor, as well as a Concessions Facilitator who has assisted a number of school and university learners with special concessions. Marlene has many years of teaching and tutoring experience and has been working with children of various ages, grades and academic abilities, with great success. Marlene has a calm, friendly presence and enjoys focusing on learners specific learning styles and learning barriers, in order to optimize their study techniques and organizational skills.
Elizabeth matriculated in 2010 and went on to complete her Bachelor of Education degree, majoring in in Early Childhood Development & Foundation Phase teaching at the University of Pretoria. She also completed her Honours in Learning Support and Augmentative & Alternative Communication. Elizabeth is currently a Grade 2 teacher assisting special needs learners and has vast teaching and tutoring experience. She is an outstanding Study Skills Crash Course facilitator, and has a passion for helping learners meet their academic needs and study goals. In her spare time she enjoys reading, exercising and also teaches javelin.
Erin matriculated in 2014 and completed a BA Psychology degree at the University of Pretoria. She is currently doing her PGCE through UNISA. Erin has 3 years’ experience as a tutor and Concessions Facilitator. Erin has vast experience with special needs learners and is one of the instrumental members of the team who designed our Study Skills Crash Course. Erin was a BrightSparkz Tutor of the Month in 2017 and her clients and learners have always adored her. She is thorough and always goes the extra mile for her learners. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, running and doing crosswords.
Sariette matriculated in 2001 and completed her Bachelor of Education degree at Stellenbosch University. Sariette has been teaching a variety of subjects for Grade R to Grade 5 level and also has experience with special needs learners. She will be studying Remedial Education through UNISA in 2018 to strengthen her skills and passion for helping learners facing academic challenges. She is an enthusiastic and creative teacher, who brings fresh ideas around teaching, especially for primary learners. In her free time, Sariette enjoys reading and cycling.
Stephanie is a warm, patient young lady who is passionate about teaching and thrives on seeing children learning and growing while having fun in the process. Stephanie has vast experience working with young children and teenagers and has completed a psychology and counseling qualification. Her strengths lie in communicating effectively with learners and assisting in how to problem solve. Stephanie volunteered at a centre for children with Autism, ADHD and other learning difficulties, and has also filled the role of a learning support coach, where she learnt the value of boosting learner confidence.
