Hi, I’m Mark! I’ve completed a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and am bilingual in Afrikaans and English. Language has always been a powerful tool in my life—both in writing and in connecting with others. In matric, I achieved distinctions in both Afrikaans and English, scoring 80% in each. My background in journalism has shaped my ability to communicate clearly, creatively, and with empathy—skills I bring into every tutoring session.

As a tutor, my mission is not just to educate, but to uplift. I aim to see each student’s individual needs, meet them where they are, and help propel them toward their goals with clarity and hope. I’m patient, intuitive, and highly adaptable, which allows me to create a safe space where students feel heard and supported. Whether a learner is struggling with confidence or needing help mastering a particular concept, I’m there to walk the journey with them—always encouraging, always believing.

In my spare time, I find joy in international travel and capturing the beauty of different cultures through photography. I also compose my own music on piano and guitar, and have a deep appreciation for architecture, graphic design, and contemporary art. These creative outlets keep me inspired, and I love bringing that same creativity into my teaching style. Helping students grow is one of the most rewarding things I do, and I’m excited to be part of their learning journey.
