Yvonne S

Hi, I’m Yvonne! I have completed an Accelerated Certificate in Education in the FET Phase as well as a National Professional Diploma in Education. With over 23 years of teaching experience, I’ve had the privilege of working with a wide range of learners and have developed a deep understanding of how to support students in a way that is both meaningful and lasting.

As a tutor, my goal is to help each child maximize their unique potential without the pressure of comparing themselves to others. I believe that every student learns differently, and it’s important to meet them where they are. My approach is to guide them gently, help them discover their own goals, and support them as they grow—not just academically, but as individuals too.

In my spare time, I enjoy the world of theatre and drama, where creativity and self-expression thrive. Music also plays a big part in my life, and I love reading—especially the timeless lessons found in Dr. Seuss books. These interests inspire how I connect with learners, making lessons more engaging, relatable, and full of heart.

By focusing on building self-confidence and making lessons fun and interactive, I encourage students to participate, ask questions, and enjoy the learning process rather than fear it.

In my spare time, I love swimming and reading, both of which help me stay relaxed and focused. I’ve always been drawn to creative hobbies like drawing and embroidery, and I enjoy discovering exciting ways to make learning feel like less of a chore.
