Nomakhwezi M
Hi, I’m Nomakhwezi! I’m currently completing a BCom in Economics and Econometrics at the University of Johannesburg. During my matric year, I achieved four distinctions, including 91% in Business Studies, 86% in Accounting, 87% in Geography, and 84% in Life Science. These results reflect my commitment to hard work, and I’m passionate about helping others achieve their academic goals too.
As a tutor, my approach is to build on students’ existing knowledge, help them understand their material deeply, and offer alternative perspectives to make complex concepts more accessible. I specialize in Grade 12 Geography, and I’m dedicated to ensuring my students feel confident in understanding the core topics, whether it’s mapwork, climate change, or development studies. My goal is to make learning enjoyable and empower my students to think critically about the subject.
Outside of academics, I’m involved in several activities, one of which is representing the Magnolia Ladies Residence Netball team. We had an outstanding season, and I love the team spirit and discipline sports bring. I also believe in maintaining a healthy lifestyle and staying active, which I feel is essential for both mental and physical well-being. Balancing academics with physical activity has been key to my success, and I encourage my students to find a healthy balance in their own lives too.
