Niel C

Hi, I’m Niel! I have completed a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, a field that has given me valuable insight into how people think, learn, and grow. During my matric year, I achieved strong marks across all my subjects, including 81% in Afrikaans, 83% in English, and 81% in Life Science. These results reflect not only my academic dedication but also my ability to engage deeply with a variety of subjects.

I have been tutoring since 2021, and I take pride in offering lessons in both English and Afrikaans, allowing me to connect with a wider range of students in a way that feels natural and comfortable for them. As a tutor, I aim to guide rather than prescribe rigid rules, encouraging students to become proactive in their studies. I focus on helping them understand themselves better as learners, easing academic pressure, and making the learning process feel less stressful and more rewarding. I also prioritise building and solidifying foundational knowledge, ensuring a smoother and more confident transition between grades.

In my spare time, I enjoy playing the guitar, drawing, writing, and spending time outdoors. These creative and active pursuits keep me balanced and inspired, and I bring that same sense of curiosity and openness into my tutoring. I strive to create a supportive, engaging environment where students feel empowered to learn, grow, and reach their full potential.

Irene M

Hi, I’m Irene. I have completed a PhD in Applied Mathematics, and I bring a strong academic foundation to my teaching. In my matric year, I achieved strong marks in Accounting, Mathematics, English and Physics, which helped shape my analytical thinking and clear, structured approach to learning.

I have more than 25 years of tutoring experience, and as a tutor I believe learning works best when it is supportive and collaborative. A tutor walks alongside the student, acting as a sounding board and providing guidance tailored to individual needs. I aim to support students holistically, helping them build confidence, understanding and independence in their learning.

In my spare time, I enjoy reading, as well as walking, hiking and running. I am also a Volunteer Catechism Teacher for children, including those with disabilities, and I am involved in leadership coaching. These experiences enrich my teaching and allow me to connect with students thoughtfully, patiently and with genuine care.

I believe that building trust and open communication is key to helping students thrive.

My goal as a tutor is to promote independence and boost self-esteem in every learner I work with. I am passionate about providing children with the best possible education and take pride in managing a diverse workload within a dynamic environment.

In my spare time, I enjoy giving back by helping the less fortunate, as well as indulging in activities like shopping, watching sports, and learning new and different things. I find joy in staying curious and engaged, both in my professional and personal life, and I bring this same energy and enthusiasm to every tutoring session.
