Poelano L
Hi, I’m Poelano! I am currently completing a Bachelor of Medicine and have been tutoring since 2022. I am passionate about helping students achieve their academic goals while creating a supportive and encouraging learning environment. During my Matric year, I achieved 6 distinctions, including 100% in Maths, 93% in Life Science, 93% in Physical Science, 88% in Geography, 94% in Life Orientation, 86% in Sesotho, as well as strong marks in English. My academic journey has taught me the importance of discipline, consistency and having the right support system, which is something I strive to provide to every learner I work with.
As a tutor, I aim not only to help students academically, but also to walk the journey with them and build strong relationships with both students and parents. I understand that every learner is different, which is why I adapt my teaching approach to suit how each student learns best. One of my greatest strengths is my ability to connect with learners, identify their challenges and help them build confidence in their abilities. I am reliable, punctual and have strong time management skills, ensuring that lessons are always productive, organised and focused on helping students reach their full potential.
Outside of academics, I am deeply interested in community work and helping others. I enjoy volunteering at my previous high school, where I assist learners in preparing for tests and examinations. As a medical student, I also volunteer at our local community clinic, which has strengthened my compassion, patience and communication skills. These experiences have reinforced my passion for education and service, and I am committed to making a positive difference in the lives of the students I tutor.
