I’ve tutored these subjects to learners in Grades 9 to 12, since 2019, and I’m a fan of doing short quizzes at the start of every lesson to continuously assess where they are at. I also work as a high school rowing coach, and in my spare time enjoy hiking and community work.

I strive to embetter myself as well as others around me, and my motto in life has always been to make it happen :)

Innocent D

Hi, I’m Innocent! I am currently completing a BSc Actuarial Science, a degree that requires a high level of analytical thinking and problem-solving. My passion for education began during my matric year, where I achieved three distinctions, including 83% in Maths, 92% in Life Orientation, and 88% in Life Science. I also earned strong marks in Geography and Physical Science. These results provided me with a robust academic foundation, and I have been sharing my knowledge and helping students succeed as a tutor since 2017.

As a tutor, my primary aim is to break down and explain difficult concepts that students often struggle to understand. I know how frustrating it can be to hit a wall with a complex topic, so I focus on simplifying these ideas to make them accessible and clear. Beyond the curriculum, I am a firm believer in the power of motivation. I strive to encourage my students, helping them build the confidence they need to tackle challenges head-on and stay inspired throughout their learning journey.

Outside of my academic work, I am very interested in the world of technology. I have expanded my digital skills by completing Computer Science in my first year as well as an introductory course in AI. This tech-forward mindset keeps me curious and organised. When it is time to relax, I really enjoy watching Cricket and playing games. These hobbies allow me to recharge, ensuring I bring a fresh and energetic perspective to every tutoring session.

These are qualities I have learned and use when tutoring. My method of teaching is by facilitation; you are in control of your own learning and I am there to guide you.

I’ve also facilitated a short course in coding. In my spare time, I enjoy music, writing, hiking and travel.
