Hi, I’m Janine! I have completed a Bachelor of Social Science in Psychology as well as a Bachelor of Social Work. During my matric year, I achieved excellent results in all my subjects, including Afrikaans, English, Maths, History, Life Science and Latin. I have been tutoring since 2019 and truly enjoy working with learners of different ages, abilities and learning styles. I believe in creating a calm and encouraging space where students feel comfortable, supported and confident to ask questions and grow at their own pace.

As a tutor, I am patient, nurturing and passionate about helping students reach their full potential. I understand that every learner is unique, which is why I focus on adapting lessons to suit each student’s individual needs and learning style. I have extensive experience working both online and in person with learners with Autism and ADHD, including students with Asperger’s Syndrome and other learning challenges. My background in Psychology and Social Work, together with my experience in the disability sector, has given me valuable insight into creating a supportive and positive learning environment where students feel understood and encouraged.

In my spare time, I enjoy reading, ballroom dancing and walking. I love building meaningful connections with my students and helping them develop not only academically, but also in confidence and self-belief. My goal is always to make learning a positive and enjoyable experience where every student feels capable of success.

Hi, I’m Olwethu! I hold an Honours degree in Psychology, awarded cum laude, and I am currently completing my internship as a Psychometrist. My academic background has given me a strong understanding of learning, cognition, and individual differences, which I apply in a practical and supportive way when working with students who require academic accommodations.

I have been actively involved in facilitation at BrightSparkz Tutors, with over 17 hours of hands-on experience in concessions facilitation. Through this, I’ve developed a calm, reliable, and detail-oriented approach to supporting students during assessments. I am committed to ensuring that every learner receives fair and appropriate support, while maintaining academic integrity and following set procedures accurately. I also bring strong communication skills and cultural sensitivity to my role, allowing me to work effectively with a diverse range of students.

Outside of facilitation work, I enjoy reading and analysing literary works, as well as administering psychological assessments and writing reports. I also have a passion for teaching and enjoy sharing knowledge in a way that is clear, structured, and encouraging. These interests strengthen my ability to stay observant, patient, and attentive to detail in high-pressure or exam-based environments.
