Monique R

Hi I’m Monique! I have completed a Masters in Philosophy Social Science Research Methods and I hold a National Diploma in Special Needs Education. In my matric year, I achieved stellar marks across all my subjects, including Afrikaans, English, Maths, Accounting and Business Studies. I am also a trained teacher, which has given me a strong academic foundation as well as practical classroom experience that I bring into every tutoring session.

I have accumulated more than 340 hours of tutoring experience with BrightSparkz Tutors, where I have worked with a diverse range of learners and learning needs. This extensive experience has equipped me with the ability to adapt my teaching style to suit each student, ensuring that lessons are engaging, effective and tailored. As a tutor, I aim to make learning fun and easy. This has sparked a passion in me to help learners reach those breakthrough moments—I truly love seeing when a child “gets it”. Watching students succeed, build confidence, and even surprise themselves is incredibly rewarding. My main reason for tutoring is to give something back while being involved in something that has a meaningful, life-long impact.

In my spare time, I enjoy dancing, swimming, hiking, mosaic art and drumming, which all reflect my creative and active nature. I am actively involved in women’s development and mentoring at my local church, and I have volunteered in reading assistance training and administrative support for an NPO. I also assist with a small family business. These experiences have strengthened my sense of responsibility, empathy and organisation—qualities that I bring into my tutoring to support and uplift every learner I work with

Lydia M

Lydia matriculated with exceptional results under the Cambridge curriculum, achieving three distinctions including Afrikaans (85%), English (83%), and Maths (84%). She has since furthered her academic and professional development by working towards completing her Bachelor of Education in the Intermediate Phase, providing her with a solid foundation in child development.

With 88 successful tutoring hours completed through BrightSparkz, Lydia has established a wonderful track record of helping primary school learners thrive. In addition to her formal tutoring, she regularly runs weekly community events for primary school children and hosts educational science workshops. This extensive youth work has given her a deep understanding of primary school learners, making her incredibly skilled and experienced at breaking down learning barriers for primary school students.

Our team highly recommends Lydia, as she is known for her friendly, calm, and patient nature. Her specialised qualification and practical experience ensure she is fully equipped and deeply experienced to tutor Maths, English, Afrikaans, and Social Science across various primary school grade levels. The BrightSparkz team is confident that her encouraging approach will create a safe, supportive learning space where your child can truly excel.

Outside of her academic pursuits, Lydia is a vibrant and creative individual who is highly passionate about her hobbies; she loves expressing herself through singing and crafting, enjoys diving into a good book, and regularly stays active by running.
