Tafline K. is our July 2023 facilitator of the month!

 
Meet Tafline K, our delightful facilitator. Tafline is a very sweet and talkative lady with a lovely sense of humor, and she carries a sternish teacher vibe that commands respect. Punctuality is one of her strong suits, and she always arrives early to her sessions, demonstrating her professionalism and dedication to her students’ learning.

Tafline‘s teaching ability is exceptional, as she exudes confidence and keeps her students engaged throughout her lessons. She has a remarkable talent for making the subject matter come alive by creating relatable scenarios, ensuring that her points hit home with her students. Not only does she provide clear explanations, but she also offers valuable study tips, encouraging her students to take ownership of their learning journey and delve deeper into the material.

Fluent in English, Tafline communicates in a crisp and clear manner, making it easy for her students to understand and follow her lessons. This characteristic is also why she is one of our amazing concessions facilitators, assisting at various schools across Gauteng.

With a focus on completing her PGCE, Tafline has been continuously striving to improve her teaching skills since 2018. Her experience as a teacher from 2006 to 2018 covers a diverse range of grade levels, from 4 to 11, giving her a comprehensive understanding of the educational needs of students at various stages of their academic journey.

Tafline‘s adaptability extends to online tutoring, where she has garnered experience in providing stable and engaging virtual sessions. Moreover, she is equipped with reliable transportation for in-person tutoring, ensuring accessibility for her students.

One of Tafline‘s proudest achievements is qualifying for her PGCE at the age of 47 after dedicating over a decade to teaching in different schools. This accomplishment reflects her commitment to personal and professional growth.

Her nurturing approach and enthusiasm create a positive and supportive learning environment, making her an exceptional choice for anyone seeking a tutor who goes above and beyond to empower learners and foster academic excellence.

Tutor of the Month: January 2023

Alana B. is our January 2023 tutor of the month!

 
 
Alana’s subject knowledge is incredible and her client feedback is always sparkling, reflecting the pride and commitment she puts into tutoring each of her students. 
 
Alana matriculated with her Cambridge O’ Levels, with 10 passes across the arts and sciences, including an A* in French and Bs in Math and English (Language & Literature).
 
She then went on to complete a BSocSci degree in Psychology and Development Studies, with a 76% average across both majors. 
 
Alana has got extensive experience as an academic mentor. She prides herself on her dedication and commitment towards helping her students achieve academic success. Alana’s teaching includes tutoring Maths at both a Primary School & a High School level. She is one of our amazing tutors who has been tutoring Maths for many years.

Tutor of the Month: June 2022

Vashani D. is our June 2022 tutor of the month!

Vashani is one of our brilliant tutors who has accomplished over 700 tutoring hours! 
 
Vashani has a great passion for education, and for helping her students have lightbulb moments. Her love for teaching, and helping her students reach their academic milestones shines bright in her tutoring. 
 
Vashani matriculated in 2008 with studious results in her final year. She then went on to complete a Bachelors Degree, followed by an Honour’s Degree at the University of Johannesburg, majoring in Mathematics & Applied Mathematics. Vashani has got extensive experience tutoring Maths at both a Primary School & a High School level. She is one of our amazing tutors who has been tutoring Maths for many years.
 
Vashani is a dedicated tutor whose determination in life makes here a valuable tutor. Her organizational skills have also contributed to her ability to properly execute her duties as a tutor. In her free time, Vashani enjoys dancing and is also an active member of her local community. All these qualities make Vashani one of our most cherished tutors.
 
Having completed over 730 tutoring hours to date, it’s no surprise that Vashani is passionate about creating brighter opportunities through learning:

Leah C. is our July 2022 tutor of the month!

Leah is one of our sparkling and most beloved Maths, English, Physical Science & Drama tutors. 
 
Leah has a great passion for education, and for helping her students have lightbulb moments. Her love for teaching, and helping her students reach their academic milestones shines bright in her tutoring. 
 
Leah has got significant experience teaching Maths, Physical Science and English, and has been involved in various leadership roles outside of the classroom. 
 
Leah is one of our most dedicated tutors, who constantly takes extra care in assisting her learners. Her excellent teaching ability, coupled with her caring nature towards her students, has encouraged her students to push for success. A noteable acheivement in Leah’s tutoring career has been her matric student’s success and improved mark range during the lockdown period.

Tutor of the Month: May 2022

Jenny W. is our May 2022 tutor of the month!

Jenny is one of our sparkling and most beloved online Afrikaans Boot Camp facilitators.
 
Jenny has a great passion for Afrikaans, as well as History.  She believes that Afrikaans can be a much easier language to understand and learn when taught correctly. SHe also believes that History can be made very interesting when taught to children like an adventure story. 
 
Jenny has got many years of teaching and homeschooling experience, and strongly believes that her experience in public speaking aids her in being a dedicated and caring tutor. Her practical experience has also helped her in assisting learner’s learn to read efficiently. 
 
 Jenny is one of our most dedicated tutors, who constantly takes extra care to assess each learner’s individual level and needs. Aside from her passion, we love that she gives us ideas on how to adapt our Afrikaans Boot Camp in new and exciting ways.

Tutor of the Month: April 2022

Megan A. is our April 2022 tutor of the month!

Megan joined BrightSparkz in 2021, and has already completed over 50 hours of tutoring.
 
Megan matriculated in 2018 with great results, including 4 distinctions. She then went on to study towards a Bachelor of ESpeech Pathology at the University of Witwatersrand. Megan is one of our dedicated and passionate English, Hebrew, Life Science and Visual Art tutors. 
 
Megan is one of our tutors with experience working with Foundation Phase learners with a variety of learning challenges. Her warm, patient, friendly approach has something that makes Megan really special and so loved by the families she’s worked with. Megan currently tutors learners for both our South African and Canadian branches and we are so grateful for the consistency and commitment she demonstrates, always putting her learners needs first.

Tutor of the Month: March 2022

Koketso M. is our March 2022 tutor of the month!

Koketso joined BrightSparkz in 2018, and has already completed over 283 hours of tutoring.
 
Koketso matriculated in 2011 with great results, including 84% for Zulu. She then went on to complete a Bachelor of Arts at Rhodes University, majoring in Politics and Industrial Sociology. Following this she went on to complete a postgraduate degree in Human Resource Management. After this Koketso completed a Master of Art, majoring in Industrial Relations & Economic Sociology. Koketso has previously volunteered as an English tutor at a variety of levels, and has also tutored a wide range of subjects at University level, including Politics, International Studies, Sociology and Industrial Sociology. Koketso is one of our excellent tutors who can confidently tutor Zulu, English & Business Studies at High School level.
We have found Koketso to be confident, professional and approachable. Her determination through her own studies highlights the dedication she shows towards seeing her students reach new academic heights. Koketso is one of our more experienced tutors, having had a multitude of experience at various levels. Koketso’s love for education and her compassion make her one of our most beloved tutors.

Tutor of the Month: February 2022

Chona S. is our February 2022 Tutor of the Month!

Chona joined BrightSparkz in August 2021, and has already completed over 100 hours of tutoring.
 
Chona matriculated in 2016 with impressive results in her final year, obtaining four distinctions in subjects including Accounting and Life Sciences. She then went on to complete a Bachelor’s of Commerce in Accounting Sciences at the University of Pretoria, majoring in Auditing, Taxation & Financial Management. Chona has got valuable experience tutoring Maths, Accounting & Physical Science at High School level. She is also one of our excellent Zulu tutors, and Zulu Boot Camp Facilitators.

Chona is passionate about teaching and has high aspirations for her students. Chona is one of our amazing tutors and has numerous years of tutoring experience. She is a warm, bubbly and patient tutor who does especially well with shy students. Chona is also determined and flexible. Her determination enables her to invest in her student’s academic success and her flexibility makes it easy for her to adjust her students personality and learning style. In her spare time, Chona enjoys playing basketball and netball.
