Hi, I’m Takunda! I have completed a Bachelor of Education in the Foundation Phase, and I have a deep love for working with young learners and supporting them as they grow in confidence and ability. In my matric year, I achieved distinctions including 95% in English, 85% in Accounting, and 95% in Home Economics, which laid a strong academic foundation for my journey in education.

I have been tutoring since 2009 and have had the privilege of working with a diverse range of learners, including neurodivergent and special needs students. I am Makaton Certified and have over 10 years of experience working with learners on the autism spectrum, as well as supporting AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) users. I also advocate for the DIR/Floortime approach and promote child-led teaching, which allows me to meet each learner where they are. I approach every lesson with patience, kindness, and understanding, creating a safe and supportive space where learners feel seen, heard, and encouraged. My goal is to guide students at their own pace, helping them build confidence while celebrating their progress every step of the way.

In my spare time, I enjoy reading, exploring technology, and sharing the Word of God. These passions shape the caring and thoughtful approach I bring into my teaching, allowing me to form meaningful connections with my learners and support them holistically.
