Hi, I’m Cass! I have completed a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Psychology and English. In my matric year, I achieved five distinctions, including 86% in English, 90% in Afrikaans, 84% in History, and 83% in Life Science. My academic background has given me a deep appreciation for language, critical thinking, and understanding human behavior—skills that I bring into my tutoring sessions. With about 3 years of tutoring experience, I have developed the ability to cater to various learning styles and adapt my approach to each student’s unique needs. I am bilingual and a trained Study Skills Crash Course facilitator, which allows me to support students in a holistic and effective way.

As a tutor, I believe that learning is about more than just academic support. I strive to understand what works best for each student, incorporating their interests into our lessons to make learning more engaging. Beyond academics, I see myself as a mentor—someone who listens, understands, and celebrates small victories to help build a student’s confidence. My goal is to create a supportive space where students feel encouraged to grow and take ownership of their learning.

In my spare time, I am an avid reader with a love for both modern and classical literature. I enjoy genres such as postmodernism, satirical works, horror, high fantasy, mythology, and science fiction. Creativity is also a big part of my life—I love drawing with ink on paper, writing poetry and short stories, and exploring film, with a particular appreciation for Mike Flanagan’s work. When I’m not immersed in books or art, I enjoy recreational hiking and spending time in nature.
