Hi, I’m Abbygail! I’m currently completing a Bachelor of Education in the Intermediate Phase, where I’m developing the skills to guide and inspire young learners. In my matric year, I achieved two distinctions, including 89% in Afrikaans, which deepened my love for language and teaching. As a bilingual speaker of English and Afrikaans, I am able to support students in both languages, making learning more accessible and comfortable for them. I believe that education is about more than just academics—it’s about building confidence and creating a positive learning experience.

As a tutor, my goal is to help students feel more comfortable in the classroom and in their schoolwork. I want to take the stress out of learning by providing support, encouragement, and the right strategies to help them succeed. By focusing on each student’s individual needs, I aim to build their confidence and help them approach challenges with a positive mindset. Whether it’s explaining concepts in a way that makes sense to them or providing a patient and understanding learning space, I strive to make a real difference in their academic journey.

In my spare time, I love staying active and playing netball for the University of Pretoria. Being part of a team has taught me discipline, teamwork, and perseverance—values I bring into my tutoring as well. I strive to create a supportive and motivating learning environment where students can grow, thrive, and reach their full potential, knowing that they have the tools and confidence to succeed.
