Hi, I’m Mieke-Jade! I’m currently completing my studies with a strong passion for learning and sharing knowledge. In my matric year, I achieved seven distinctions, including Afrikaans, Visual Art, Physical Science, Life Science, Mathematics, and English. I have always been curious about how things work, whether in science, language, or art, and I love bringing that curiosity into my tutoring. My goal is to help students feel confident in their abilities and approach learning with a sense of excitement rather than stress.

As a tutor, I believe that learning is about more than just memorizing facts—it’s about truly understanding where concepts come from and how they connect to the bigger picture. I focus on guiding students at their own pace, encouraging them to take the lead while I provide the support they need. By breaking down complex ideas, showing their background, and encouraging independent thinking, I aim to help learners not just improve their grades but also develop the skills to teach themselves in the future.

In my spare time, I love exploring the world in different ways—whether through astronomy, art, or hiking. The stars remind me of how much there is to learn, painting allows me to express creativity, and hiking gives me the space to reflect. I bring this same sense of wonder and exploration into my tutoring, helping students see learning as a journey rather than just a task. My hope is to make every lesson engaging, supportive, and full of encouragement, so that my students walk away feeling more capable and inspired.
