Hi, I’m Lona! I have completed a Bachelor of Health Sciences in Biomedical Science as well as a Bachelor of Health Sciences Honours in Pharmacology, and I am currently completing my Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery. My academic journey has equipped me with strong analytical, scientific, and problem-solving skills, which I bring into every tutoring session. During my matric year, I achieved excellent marks across all my subjects, including Accounting, English, Life Sciences, Life Orientation, Mathematics, Zulu, and Physical Sciences.

I have over eight years of tutoring experience and have developed a passion for helping students build both confidence and understanding in their studies. Throughout my university studies, I achieved Dean’s List recognition, which reflects my dedication, consistency, and strong academic performance. Beyond academics, I served as a camp counsellor for two years and I currently serve in the children’s ministry at church, experiences that have strengthened my patience, adaptability, and ability to connect with students from different backgrounds and learning styles. I strive to create a calm, encouraging, and supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and working through challenges at their own pace.

As a tutor, I aim to understand, engage with, and support students in the best way possible. My goal is not only to help students understand their work, but also to teach them how to apply concepts effectively and build lasting confidence in their abilities. I especially enjoy breaking down complex concepts into simple, manageable steps and helping students develop structured approaches to learning and problem-solving, particularly in Mathematics and the Sciences. In my spare time, I enjoy hiking and coding, both of which reflect my curiosity, discipline, and love for continuous learning.
