Divashan A

Hi, I’m Divashan! I’m currently completing my BSc in Civil Engineering (Honours), where I’m able to combine my love for problem-solving with a passion for design and construction. In my matric year, I achieved three distinctions, including 80% in Engineering and Graphic Design, 80% in Physical Science, and 90% in Religious Education. I’ve also been fortunate to join the student executive committees for the South African Institute for Civil Engineering, the Chartered Institute of Buildings, and the Wits Hindu Student Society, which has given me a platform to engage with industry professionals and further develop my leadership skills.

As a tutor, I believe in building a strong foundation first, then gradually deepening the student’s understanding of more advanced concepts. I’ve received great feedback from students in the past who appreciate how I simplify complex ideas and make them more accessible. My goal is to ensure that learning feels approachable and enjoyable, so students gain confidence in their abilities and perform to their best potential.

In my spare time, I enjoy staying active with hobbies like working out, playing football, and hitting the gym. I’m also passionate about gaming, playing pool, bowling, and traveling to new places. I’m a big fan of Formula 1 and enjoy go-karting and golf. When I’m not engaged in sports or studies, I like to relax with a good book, always expanding my knowledge and exploring new interests.
