Hi, I’m Maryke! I’ve completed a Bachelor of Education in Foundation Phase and am proud to be fully bilingual in English and Afrikaans. My academic journey began with a strong matric year, where I achieved 5 distinctions — including 82% for English, 84% for both Physical and Life Sciences, and 84% for Hospitality Studies. I also came close with 78% in both Maths and Afrikaans, showcasing my consistency across a wide range of subjects.

As a tutor, I see my role as a mediator, guide, and supportive partner in each learner’s educational journey. I aim to create a safe and stimulating environment where children feel encouraged to explore, ask questions, and grow at their own pace. I enjoy breaking down complex terms into simple, relatable explanations that resonate with young learners, making sure they not only understand the work but also build confidence in themselves.

In my spare time, I am passionate about mindfulness and intentionally weave it into my everyday life. I love being involved in school sports and community activities, where I can support and uplift young learners beyond the classroom. Problem-solving is something I embrace with creativity and innovation, always looking for new ways to approach challenges. Most of all, I find joy in working with children — their energy, curiosity, and unique perspectives inspire me every day.
