Hi, I’m Yolisa! I’ve completed a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and German Studies at Rhodes University, where I developed a deep appreciation for language, culture, and how people learn and communicate. In my matric year, I achieved 3 distinctions, including 85% for isiXhosa, 80% for Business Studies, and 82% for Mathematical Literacy. These results reflect my dedication and love for learning—something I now enjoy sharing with others through tutoring.

Since the beginning of 2024, I’ve been working as a tutor and have found it incredibly rewarding. I specialise in tutoring isiXhosa at high school level, and my approach is all about meeting learners where they are. I focus on building their confidence, simplifying complex topics, and helping them apply their knowledge effectively in both classroom settings and exams. My aim is to make lessons engaging, practical, and tailored to each student’s individual needs so they can see real progress and feel empowered in their learning.

In my spare time, I enjoy reading, playing hockey, and public speaking and presenting—all activities that continue to develop my communication skills and creativity. These interests also help me bring energy and clarity to my tutoring sessions. I believe that with the right support and mindset, every learner can thrive, and I’m passionate about helping students reach their goals in isiXhosa and beyond.
