Stanie M
Hi, I’m Stanie! I’ve completed a Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering, a degree that has refined my ability to think critically, solve complex problems, and communicate technical ideas clearly—all skills that translate directly into effective tutoring. My academic strengths lie in the sciences and mathematics; in my matric year, I achieved five distinctions, including 80% in EGD and Maths, 85% in Life Science, and 88% in Physical Science. I have been tutoring with BrightSparkz Tutors since 2021, but my passion for helping others learn started long before that, assisting people in my community and building a strong foundation in educational support.
As a tutor, I see myself as a bridge between the teacher and the subject, helping learners successfully cross over to full understanding. My core aim is to help students fill in those knowledge gaps that often cause frustration. I focus on building a strong foundation for them to work from, and I strive to encourage them to enjoy the subjects, not just tolerate them. By making learning relevant and accessible, I work to build up a student’s confidence and foster a positive attitude towards subjects that might currently feel challenging.
In my spare time, I engage in activities that balance mental discipline with creativity. I enjoy Exercising and am a strong believer that physical health leads to mental wealth, which is a philosophy I bring into my work ethic. For creative expression, I love Landscaping, where I create artistic ‘sculptures’ using nature itself. A more unique hobby is Wrist Watch Making; I learned this intricate skill as a young apprentice to an old neighbour, and it has since become a regular passion. These hobbies all reinforce the patience, precision, and focus I bring to every tutoring session.
