Hello! I’m Owethu, and I am thrilled to help you navigate your academic journey. I am currently completing a Bachelor of Psychology, a field that has deepened my understanding of how children learn, develop, and build confidence over time. My own academic foundation is strong; in my matric year, I achieved three distinctions, including 80% in Economics, 88% in History, and 85% in Life Orientation. I also earned consistently high marks in Afrikaans, English, Maths, and Life Science. This diverse subject background allows me to support learners across various disciplines while strengthening essential foundational skills.

Having experienced the pressures of school myself, my aim as a tutor is to create a patient, supportive, and inclusive learning environment where students feel safe to ask questions and learn at their own pace. I place strong emphasis on building core skills such as comprehension, problem-solving, and confidence, especially for younger learners who are still developing their academic foundations. I strive to help students recognise their own potential and gradually develop the independence needed to manage their workload and achieve personal goals. I believe tutoring is not only about academic improvement, but about nurturing self-belief and long-term learning habits.

When I am not busy with my studies or tutoring, I enjoy staying active and creative to maintain balance in my life. You will often find me at CrossFit, challenging myself physically, or in the kitchen experimenting with new cooking recipes. I also have a passion for makeup artistry and enjoy the focus and patience required for crochet. These interests help me remain calm, attentive, and enthusiastic—qualities I bring into every tutoring session to ensure learning is both engaging and encouraging.
