Hi, I’m Ashley-Tayla! I hold a BA Honours in English Literature as well as a PGCE in the FET Phase, and I’ve been tutoring since 2019. In my Matric year, I achieved a distinction, which set the foundation for my academic journey and passion for the English language. I find great fulfilment in helping learners find their confidence in reading, writing, and understanding texts on a deeper level.

As a tutor, my goal is to support each learner by ensuring true understanding, not just surface-level memorisation. I take time to explain concepts clearly and patiently, adapting my methods to suit the individual’s learning style. I believe that with the right encouragement and tailored guidance, every learner has the potential to grow and succeed in their academic journey.

In my spare time, I’m an avid reader. While I do read for pleasure, I also enjoy engaging with literature from a critical and academic perspective. Over the past year, I’ve developed an interest in Bullet Journaling — it gives me a structured routine while allowing for creative expression, which I find both grounding and inspiring.
