Hi, I’m Shannon! I’m currently completing a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Philosophy at Stellenbosch University, where I’ve developed a strong passion for both fields. During my matric year, I worked hard to achieve 5 distinctions, including 81% for English, 83% for Maths, and 82% for Biology. These results reflect my dedication and commitment to mastering subjects, and I’m excited to pass on that enthusiasm and knowledge to my students.

I have been tutoring consistently at my current university for the past year, and in that time, I’ve gained valuable experience in helping students grasp difficult concepts. I particularly enjoy tutoring Maths and the sciences, as I find these subjects both challenging and rewarding to teach. My goal as a tutor is not only to teach the material but also to make the subject matter more approachable and enjoyable for my students. I am highly empathetic and love the challenge of adapting my teaching methods to suit each student’s unique learning style and challenges. I believe in building strong, supportive relationships through kindness, honesty, and effort. When students feel encouraged and confident, they are more likely to succeed.

Outside of my studies and tutoring, I’m passionate about horses, and I enjoy reading, creating music, and gaming. These activities help me unwind and stay creative, and I find they often give me fresh perspectives that I bring to my tutoring sessions.
