Hi I’m Erin!, and I am a passionate and experienced tutor with a strong academic foundation. I have completed a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy, which has given me valuable insight into learning processes, cognitive engagement, and diverse learning styles. In my final matric year, I achieved four distinctions, demonstrating my commitment to academic excellence. These results included 85% in Afrikaans, 83% in English, 89% in History, and an impressive 91% in Music.

I have been actively involved in tutoring students since 2015, allowing me to hone an effective and empowering approach to education. I believe tutoring is different from teaching; my primary goal is not to think for the student, but rather to show them how to engage with the information and ultimately do the work for themselves. I focus on developing critical thinking and independent problem-solving skills, ensuring that students gain true mastery and self-confidence in their subject areas.

Outside of my tutoring commitments, I have always had a keen interest in music and the arts. I am a dedicated musician, playing the piano and the ‘cello, and I also enjoy classical singing. In my spare time, I find immense joy in crafting and caring for animals. These hobbies require patience, creativity, and attention to detail, qualities which naturally feed back into my tutoring style, helping me to provide a supportive and tailored learning environment.
