Hi, I’m Ellie! I’m currently completing a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Genetics and Biochemistry — two fields that perfectly combine my love for science and understanding how things work on a deeper level. In my matric year, I achieved 5 distinctions, including 87% in Afrikaans, 82% in both English and French, and 81% in Life Science. I’ve always had a strong curiosity for learning, especially when it comes to understanding the “why” behind everything.

As a tutor, my goal is to help students truly understand concepts and processes — not just to memorise content, but to grasp the hows and whys behind what they’re learning. I believe that once a learner understands something at its core, it becomes easier, more enjoyable, and more empowering to study. I love helping students make those connections that suddenly make things click and seeing the confidence that follows.

In my spare time, I really enjoy fashion and love putting together colorful outfits that express personality and creativity. I also enjoy spending time outdoors on walks, shopping sustainably and second-hand, and experimenting in the kitchen. I have a knack for perfecting recipes — I’ve even perfected my iced coffee! Whether it’s tutoring or trying out something new, I love the process of learning, refining, and growing.
