Hi, I’m Adrie! I have completed a Bachelor of Education in the Intermediate Phase and have been tutoring for over 14 years. My experience in education has taught me the value of patience, adaptability, and creativity when working with young minds. I take great joy in seeing learners grow in confidence and ability as they discover their potential.

As a tutor, my aim is to nurture each learner by tailoring the work to suit their specific needs and enriching their learning experience. I believe every student learns differently, and by creating a supportive and stimulating environment, I can help them feel confident and inspired. My approach is centered on building a strong foundation while also encouraging curiosity and critical thinking.

In my spare time, I enjoy bird watching—a passion that began when I completed a six-month bird identification course at the Pretoria Zoo in 1986. I also have a deep love for music, having received classical music tuition throughout my school years and taken Music as a subject from Grade 8 to 10. I regularly attend symphony concerts, musicals, plays, and choral performances, and I enjoy listening to a wide variety of music, from opera and classical to pop, rock, and world music. I’m also an avid reader, especially of non-fiction, autobiographies, poetry, and children’s books like those by Roald Dahl, Dr. Seuss, and the Where’s Wally series.
