Hi I’m Yi! I am currently completing a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical and Mechatronics, where I continue to strengthen my analytical thinking and problem-solving skills. In my matric year, I achieved 6 distinctions, including 80% in Afrikaans, 87% in Art, 90% in Engineering and Graphic Design, 95% in Maths, 80% in Physical Science, and 93% in Life Orientation, along with strong marks in English. These results reflect both my technical ability and my creativity, which I believe are equally important in developing well-rounded learners.

I have been tutoring since 2023, and during this time I have developed a strong passion for helping students grow academically and personally. As a tutor, I aim not just to answer questions, but to teach learners critical thinking skills and guide them towards independence in their work, even when I am not there. I focus on building confidence, encouraging curiosity, and creating a supportive environment where students feel comfortable tackling challenging concepts.

In my spare time, I am very interested in learning languages. I currently speak three languages: English, Afrikaans and Mandarin, and I hope to learn more in the future. I enjoy expanding my knowledge and embracing new challenges, which mirrors the approach I encourage in my students — continuous growth, curiosity and self-improvement.
