Hi, I’m Petal! I have completed a BTech in Civil Engineering as well as an Honours Degree in Theology — two very different but equally fulfilling fields that have taught me discipline, structure, and compassion. While my academic background is diverse, I also have a strong proficiency in Afrikaans and enjoy helping learners improve their understanding and confidence in the language. I am passionate about creating a supportive learning environment where students feel encouraged, capable, and comfortable asking questions as they grow in their skills.

As a tutor, my goal is to guide rather than do the work for students. I aim to explain concepts in a way that is easy to understand, listen carefully, and adapt my teaching style to each learner’s needs. Whether it’s grammar, comprehension, vocabulary, or preparing for tests and assignments, I strive to make learning feel less overwhelming and more enjoyable. I believe every learner can improve with the right support and a positive learning environment.

In my spare time, I’m very family-oriented and find joy in spending quality time with loved ones. I’m also deeply involved in ministry and service, which reflects my passion for helping others grow and thrive. Additionally, I enjoy editing and reviewing books, as it combines my love for language with my eye for detail — skills I bring into every tutoring session.
