Hi, I’m Jimi! I’m currently completing a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in French, History, and Politics & Governance. My passion for languages and the past has driven me to explore how history shapes our present, and how language connects people across cultures. In my matric year, I achieved distinctions in French (85%) and History (90%), solidifying my love for these subjects and deepening my understanding of them.

As a tutor, I aim to be more than just an educator—I want to be a mentor and a guide, someone my students can look up to. I believe that every student has a unique way of learning, and I strive to find the most effective approach for each individual. Whether it’s breaking down complex historical events or making language learning more engaging, my goal is to create a supportive and encouraging environment where students can thrive.

In my spare time, I enjoy staying active, spending time with friends, and consuming various types of media. Film is a particular passion of mine, especially Francophone cinema. This interest has led me to become a member of the CinémAlliance+ committee at the Alliance Française du Cap, where we organize monthly screenings of French-language films. Whether through history, politics, or film, I love engaging with new ideas and perspectives, and I bring this enthusiasm into my tutoring sessions.
