Mazviita P

Hi, I’m Mazviita! I’m currently completing my Bachelor of Law, a degree that has refined my ability to think critically, research thoroughly, and communicate with precision. In my matric year, I was thrilled to achieve seven distinctions, including an impressive 93% in Accounting, 94% in IT, 93% in Business Studies, 91% in History, 93% in English & French, and 94% in Life Science. These results are a testament to my dedication and a deep love for learning, which I bring to every tutoring session.

As a tutor, my primary goal is to tailor my explanations to each student’s unique way of understanding. I believe learning should be a comfortable and open experience, so I strive to create a safe space where my students feel free to ask any question and communicate their challenges without hesitation. My aim is not just to help them with the material, but to empower them to become confident, engaged learners who can tackle any problem with clarity.

In my spare time, I work for the campus newspaper, PDBY at UP, where I regularly interview students. This role has sharpened my communication skills, teaching me how to explain complex ideas clearly and listen actively. I’m also passionate about researching, whether it’s for articles or for moot court competitions, which has strengthened my critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. For fun, I love to unwind by playing the ukulele and guitar and expressing my creativity through digital collages and scrapbooks on Canva.

Jordan B

Hi, I’m Jordan! I’m currently completing a BEng in Civil Engineering and have been tutoring since 2023. In my matric year, I achieved four distinctions, earning 83% in CAT, 82% in EGD, 85% in French, and 82% in Maths. I’m passionate about helping students overcome academic challenges and build their confidence, and I believe my recent experience with the school curriculum gives me a unique perspective on what it takes to succeed.

My approach to tutoring is all about making learning easy and relatable. I believe it’s essential to first understand where a student is struggling and then tailor my explanation to them. I strive to explain complex concepts in simple, understandable ways, just as a peer would, rather than a traditional teacher. My goal is to break down difficult topics into manageable parts and provide different, relatable examples so that you can feel empowered and confident in your own abilities.

When I’m not focused on my studies or tutoring, I’m passionate about high-energy, competitive environments. I enjoy sports and physical activities like basketball, soccer, rugby, and running, not just for fitness, but for the teamwork, strategy, and discipline they teach. I’m also a big fan of Formula 1 and love gaming in my free time. These hobbies allow me to stay sharp, think tactically, and unwind while still fuelling my competitive edge.

Kaithlyn H

Hi, I’m Kaithlyn! I’m currently completing my BCom in Marketing Management, where I’m developing both my academic and practical understanding of how to communicate, create strategies, and think critically about the world around us. Studying in this field has also deepened my appreciation for the importance of persistence, creativity, and problem-solving—qualities I bring into my tutoring.

As a tutor, I aim to help students through the hard times, ensuring they never feel alone or like a failure. I understand that learning can sometimes be overwhelming, and my goal is to guide and encourage students while helping them find strategies that work for them. By breaking down concepts and building confidence step by step, I strive to make learning a more positive and empowering experience.

In my spare time, I enjoy crocheting, reading, and exploring new side hustles and income opportunities as a student. I’m passionate about learning new skills, staying productive, and finding ways to grow both personally and financially. I believe this curiosity and drive to learn translates into my tutoring, where I encourage students to see challenges as opportunities for growth.
